The Alam or Busem Laboratory is located in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences area, to be exact between the UNESA Ketintang canteen and the UNESA Ketintang Baitul Makmur mosque. During the rainy season, this busem functions as a water reservoir and flood controller in the Ketintang UNESA area.
With this busem, the view of standing water during the rainy season is no longer visible in the UNESA Ketintang area. During the dry season, the water in the busem can recede up to half of the busem's capacity.
Apart from being a flood controller, this busem functions as a habitat for several types of freshwater fish including tilapia and combro. These fish are kept and are not allowed to be fished. There are several signs prohibiting fishing around busem. Meanwhile on in the middle of the busem there is a small house for the habitat of pigeons that live in the busem area.
In the morning and evening or during holidays, this busem area is an attractive place for a vacation and unwinding.
